A little bit about the Ultimaker 2

The Ultimaker 2 desktop 3D printer has been developed based on the knowledge and experience Ultimaker has gained from the first generation. Every part has been redesigned to create one of the highest performing 3D printer available on the market, but also a very reliable one. The Ultimaker 2 uses open source free software and you don’t need any specific technical knowledge to operate it. It has been specially designed for both non-experts and experts.

Heated Bed

The heated bed will ensure that your prints are firmly stuck to the bed when printing and easily removable when the bed has cooled. The bottom of your prints will also be very flat and shiny.


Built In Display & Control Wheel

You can see the status of your print and modify the settings mid print.


SD Card

Print straight from an SD card so theres no need to connect the printer to your computer if you don’t want to.


Extremely Fast

Thanks to the fastest controlled horizontal acceleration on the market your prints will be ready quickly (print speed is 30mm/s – 300mm/s).


Low Cost Material

You can use 2.85mm PLA or ABS filament from any manufacturer which keeps the cost of materials down to a minimum.


Large Build Volume

The printer can create objects up to a mazimum size of 23 x 22.5 x 20.5cm

Is the 3D Printing software included?

Yes, the Ultimaker 2 comes with Cura, which is an award winning, open source 3D printing software, you can download it now by clicking here.

Will there be a dual extrusion upgrade kit available?

Yes, every Ultimaker 2 comes with pre drilled holes and space next to the extruder for a 2nd one. However, there is no fixed date yet for its release.

Can you print over wifi with the Ulitmaker 2?

The Ultimaker 2 does have wifi capability but it is not currently available, this will come with a future software and firmware update.

What filament can you use with the Ultimaker 2?

Ultimaker recommend that you use PLA or ABS, however you can experiment with other filaments such as NinjaFlex flexible filament.
