ABS filament, is probably one of the most well known plastics that you can print with on a 3D printer. We sell open spool ABS to work on any machine and brand specific spools like Z-ABS to work specifically with the Zortrax M200 and MakerBot ABS for the MakerBot 3D printer range.
ABS or acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, has very different properties to PLA and melts at a higher temperature. ABS is generally stronger than PLA and can be treated with acetone to produce fantastic effects on finished 3D prints, click here to see some examples. It is always advised to print ABS filament on a heated bed as it is more prone to warping than materials like PLA. Machines such as the Zortrax M200 use a heated and perforated plate to ensure that ABS sticks down even better and prints perfectly every time.
